FAQs
Does it require assembly?
Yes. The Bird Feeder will require minimal gluing to attach the provided counterweight that sits below the bird feeder.
How do I assemble the Bird Feeder?
Place a small amount of superglue into the small rivet on the bottom of the pole piece and the bottom of the base piece. Then connect the pole to the base and the counterweight piece. Allow to fully dry for 24 hours.
When ready to hang, attach the provided chain and place into hanging position. Fill the food bowl and place into the feeder (do not glue the food bowl on).
Fill the counterweight at the bottom with pebbles/stones, sand or dirt.
Is it safe to feed birds in my backyard?
Yes! When done thoughtfully, feeding birds can be beneficial, especially in urban and suburban areas where natural food sources are limited. Using a clean feeder and offering appropriate food helps support local bird populations without disrupting their natural behaviours.
What type of birds will use the Bird Feeder Lite?
The Bird Feeder Lite is suitable for many common garden birds, including smaller native species. The open, simple design makes it easy for birds to access food comfortably.
What food should I put in my Bird Feeder?
We recommend using quality bird seed mixes suited to your local bird species. Avoid bread, salted foods, or processed scraps, as these can be harmful to birds.
How often should I clean my Bird Feeder?
Ideally, clean your bowl every 1–2 weeks, or more often during wet weather. Regular cleaning helps prevent the spread of bacteria and keeps visiting birds healthy.
Where should I hang the Bird Feeder?
Place the feeder in a quiet, visible area where birds feel safe, ideally away from heavy foot traffic and predators. Hanging it near trees or shrubs gives birds a nearby place to perch and retreat.
